The VV Puram Thindi Beedhi is one of the famous food streets of the city, with over 42 shops over just 200m. The street is usually busy from 6pm till midnight, with thousands of visitors daily. The redesign of the street designates it as a pedestrian only zone in the evening, with wider footpaths and infrastructure designed for easy maintenance and access.
The coloured concrete street provides a unique character to the street, that celebrates the traditional character of the street with contemporary design elements. With provision for street furniture inspired by the traditional Darshini establishments in the city and shaded benches, the street will have all amenities to transform into a memorable, hygienic and safe food street for the city.

Public Plazas are planned on either end of the street with public amenities like toilets. Wayfinding markers, and totems designed to showcase the history and legacy of the location.

Wayfinding is designed so as to highlight walking distances and indicate public and cultural landmarks around the street.
