Mobility Champions: Aditi Ajay and Bhagyashri Kulkarni
Collaborators: YLAC-Young Leaders in Active Citizenship
Mod Foundation was a partner in the YLAC Mobility Champions Fellowship 2021-2022. The Mobility Champions Fellowship is a 3-4 month long engagement, wherein passionate young residents are groomed as ‘Mobility Champions’ to amplify the movement on sustainable mobility.
Aditi Ajay and Bhagyashri Kulkarni were placed with Mod. During the course of their fellowship, they worked on collecting data and increasing awareness about the K100 Citizens’ Waterway Project. Specifically on the issues of solid waste and its management on roads and pathways adjacent to the storm water drain.
A walk with the residents, Solid Waste Marshalls, and staff from BBMP’s Solid Waste Division for Ward 118: Sudhama Nagar was arranged at the culmination of the fellowship to chart out a road map for solid waste collection in the area. The observations and recommendations were compiled and submitted to the concerned officials.
Some images of the walk and the interaction between residents and solid waste management officials.
